This study was aimed to analyze the clinical, biochemical, Neuro imaging finding of series of patients who met the criteria of hemichorea - hemiballisums with hyperglycemia during COVID-19 pandemic in rural patients.

Twenty patients with hemichorea and ballism associated with hyperglycemia were identified in 8 male and 12 female with the mean age of 55.8 (Ranges from 40 to 65 years of age). All patients had poor diabetic control due to lack of proper medication during the COVID-19 pandemic. Eight had Covid-19 infections along with diabetes. The mean blood glucose level were 460.2mg%. Twelve patients had involvement in right sided limbs and eight patients had left sided involvement. All hemichorea-hemiballism. Neuro imaging shows striatal hyperintensity signal on MRI in all patients.

In our study during the COVID-19 pandemic, due to irregular treatment, type2DM patients had developed non-ketotic hyperglycemia associated hemichorea-hemiballism. In significant number of patients, COVID-19 had also precipitated this movement disorders. With proper control of hyperglycemia with the neuroleptics, all patients showed recovery even in the presence of COVID-19.
