Participants should have obtained skills to allow them to comfortably and confidently approach the topic of sexual functioning with their patients with simple scales to use for this assessment as well; understand the mechanisms by which neurologic illness and their specific treatments cause or contribute to sexual dysfunction; become familiar with a neuroendocrine evaluation for sexual dysfunction and be able to use the results of these hormonal tests to guide further treatment; and know treatment approaches for orgasmic dysfunction and impaired libido for both men and women, including pharmacologic and behavioral techniques.
