Participants should be familiar with the P4P methods that do/do not lead to improved health care efficiency/outcomes; how incentives to improve quality are developed and reimbursed; how measures of quality (indicators) are developed based on evidence and consensus; how P4P may be enhanced by use of electronic health records; the best current examples of P4P; learning how to design the most promising methods of incentives looking to the future; and how neurologists are best able to contribute to P4P efforts.
