Movement Disorders
This workshop focuses on enhancing knowledge and clinical application of Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) for Movement Disorders.Participants will: Learn to identify suitable candidates for DBS and understand the processes leading to DBS surgery and therapy; Review relevant anatomy and physiology critical for DBS targeting and their clinical applications; Engage in hands-on demonstrations of available DBS platforms, setup, and programming techniques and troubleshooting. By the end of this workshop, participants will be able to: Enhance practical, clinical knowledge related to DBS evaluation, targeting, and technology, including candidate selection, relevant neuroanatomy/neurophysiology, device setup, and foundational programming skills across platforms; Apply DBS principles to patient care by integrating programming strategies into patient management, troubleshooting, recognizing outcome-modifying factors, and guiding patients through the surgical and therapeutic process.
