Participants should become familiar with the causes and clinical features of rapidly progressive dementia, including neurodegenerative, autoimmune and paraneoplastic causes, be able to apply sensitive and specific tests to accurately diagnose patients with specific causes of rapidly progressive dementia, and be able to recognize the clinical and paraclinical findings that suggest a potentially reversible cause of rapidly progressive dementia.
