Practice, Policy, and Ethics
AI has the potential to revolutionize academic neurology’s tripartite mission. At a time when all three traditional academic missions are facing increasing pressure, we all hope that AI can improve efficiency of work and help us make large leaps forward with finding signals within noise and unbridled creativity (when paired appropriately with human oversight). For example: Clinically, imaging analysis, pattern recognition, and administrative tasks can support neurologists in their day-to-day work. AI-driven tools can support researchers in managing large datasets and considering new therapies. Coupling new technologies with traditional teaching methods will optimize training for the next generation of neurologists. In this program, we will discuss present some uses of and future opportunities for AI in academic neurology. Plan on a robust discussion!
