Participants should have an updated approach to the immediate investigation, diagnosis, and management of patients presenting with acute cerebrovascular emergencies; identify potentially dangerous headaches and initiate effective treatment of severe intractable headaches; recognize and initiate the management of neuro-ophthalmologic symptoms and findings that are clues to serious brain- and vision-threatening disease; and recognize, evaluate, and treat the various types of seizures that are most likely to present in the emergency department or intensive care unit.
