Participants should be able to identify, assess, and implement key patient safety features of common general-purpose technological devices, as well as specific medically focused technological devices; analyze the medical benefits and legal risks to various patient-to-provider electronic communications methods so as to improve patient access to the physician without assuming undue risk; and assess and improve various provider-to-provider communications methods so as to improve the safety of patient care.
