Learning Objectives Participants should become familiar with the pathophysiology of autonomic dysfunction in children and adolescents and the current recommended diagnostic evaluation of syncope, autonomic seizures, postural tachycardia syndrome, chronic orthostatic intolerance, and the autonomic manifestations of paroxysmal events; how to recognize the simple versus more serious forms of syncope; clinical pearls to assist the general neurologist and child neurologist with interpretation of autonomic function tests; and the management guidelines of autonomic dysfunction and comorbid conditions. Interactive case presentations will demonstrate the diagnostic and management strategies for a variety of the autonomic dysfunction syndromes in children and adolescents.
