Participants should be able to better understand the diagnosis and management of unusual causes of stroke, intracranial occlusive disease, vascular cognitive impairment, and the use of statin agents in stroke prevention; the role of new inflammatory markers and tests of inflammation as applied to individual stroke patients or patients at risk of stroke; and the role of heparin in acute management of stroke.
