Free Brain Health Fair Coming to Los Angeles for First Time

One-day-only Event for the Entire Family

This free, one-day-only event includes fun, hands-on activities, and connects the public with some of the best and brightest neurologists in the world to learn the latest advances in the treatment of neurologic disorders. The Brain Health Fair is open to all Los Angeles area neurology patients, caregivers, families, students and anyone interested in brain health. Diseases that will be covered at the event include multiple sclerosis, epilepsy, stroke, movement disorders, neuromuscular disease, headache, concussion, traumatic brain injury, pediatric neurology and others. Activities of special interest for patients and caregivers: 鈥 鈥淎sk a Neurologist鈥 booth鈥攕peak to expert neurologists 鈥 Learn about the latest treatments and research advances 鈥 Get prevention and healthy lifestyle tips 鈥 Speak with local support groups 鈥 Access free resources in English and Spanish 鈥 Discover home modification resources 鈥 See presentation on fall prevention 鈥 Measure your gait鈥攕ee how gait changes in different neurologic disorders 鈥 Relax with chair yoga Other activities: 鈥 View an actual human brain 鈥 See your own brain through imaging 鈥 Journey through an inflatable, interactive 20-foot brain 鈥 Create brain-inspired arts and crafts 鈥 Meet trained local service dogs 鈥 Tour the UCLA mobile stroke unit 鈥 Pick up a free bike helmet (supplies limited) 鈥淭here have been amazing advances in brain research and treatments over the past year, making it an exciting time in brain health,鈥 said Rujuta Bhatt Wilson, MD, at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA and member of the 好色先生. 鈥淭his is an incredible opportunity for Los Angeles residents to learn from some of the best and brightest neurologists in the world who will share the latest advances in the prevention and treatment of neurologic disorders, as well as for students to learn more about the brain through educational and interactive activities.鈥 鈥淲e are thrilled to be hosting the 70th 好色先生鈥檚 Annual Meeting and the opportunities that its Brain Health Fair provides to the community,鈥 said Brad Gessner, Senior Vice President and General Manager at the Los Angeles Convention Center. 鈥淲e encourage locals to attend to educate themselves, friends and family about brain health.鈥 The Brain Health Fair is presented by the 好色先生, which will bring an estimated 13,000 neurologists and health care professionals to Los Angeles, April 21-27 for its 70th Annual Meeting, the world鈥檚 largest gathering of neurologists.
