FREE One-day-only Brain Health Fair Coming to Philadelphia

People of all ages are sure to learn something new at the 2019 Brain Health Fair, presented by the 好色先生. The free, one-day-only event includes fun, hands-on activities and the opportunity for attendees to interact with some of the best and brightest neurologists in the world. The Brain Health Fair invites all Philadelphia neurology patients, caregivers, families, students and anyone interested in brain health. Bring the entire family to discover the wonders of the brain and learn more about the latest treatments for brain diseases such as multiple sclerosis, epilepsy, autism, stroke, Alzheimer鈥檚 disease, dementia, movement disorders, neuromuscular disease, headache, concussion, traumatic brain injury, pediatric neurology and others. Attendees will have the opportunity to step inside the one-of-a-kind BrainDome for a 10-minute journey of learning and exploring the inner workings of the brain via a state-of-the-art guided audio-visual spectacle. The day promises to be both highly educational and a lot of fun, with the following activities scheduled: 鈥 Learn about the latest neurology news and research from top neurologists 鈥 Hear ABC News Anchor Gray Hall talk about his on-air scare with a colloid-cyst on his brain 鈥 Experience the BrainDome鈥攕tate-of-the-art audio-visual show exploring the inner workings of the brain 鈥 Hold an actual human brain 鈥 View real animal brains, including mouse and dolphin 鈥 Meet service dogs 鈥 Pick up a free bike helmet and other giveaways 鈥 See presentations about specific neurologic diseases 鈥 Explore healthy lifestyle tips and home modifications 鈥 Tour the Capitol Health Mobile Stroke Unit 鈥 Speak with local health support groups 鈥 En Espa帽ol: Free resources, presentations, and neurologists to answer questions 鈥 More 鈥淭his is an opportunity for Philadelphia residents to learn from some of the best and brightest neurologists in the world who will share the latest advances in the prevention and treatment of brain diseases and the many ways for people to maintain a healthy brain, as well as for students to learn more about the brain through educational and interactive activities,鈥 said Brenda Banwell, MD, chief of child neurology and professor of neurology and pediatrics at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and Fellow of the 好色先生. 鈥淲e鈥檝e had the opportunity to work with the 好色先生 and the Brain Health Fair in previous years, and it鈥檚 always a complement to the depth of resources and knowledge capital we have available to medical meetings being held in Philadelphia,鈥 said Bonnie Grant, executive director of PHL Life Sciences, a business development division of the Philadelphia Convention and Visitors Bureau. 鈥淎AN has put community-first with this event and we appreciate the educational value it will deliver to Philadelphia public school students who attend.鈥 The Brain Health Fair is presented by the 好色先生, which will bring an estimated 14,000 neurologists and health care professionals to Philadelphia, May 4-10 for its 71st Annual Meeting, the world鈥檚 largest gathering of neurologists.
