Free Bike Helmet Giveaway This Saturday in Minneapolis

WHAT: Free Bike Helmet Giveaway hosted by the . WHERE: 好色先生, 201 Chicago Avenue, Minneapolis, across the street from the Guthrie Theater. WHEN: Saturday, June 22, 2019, 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Arrive early as quantities are limited. PHOTO/VIDEO OPPORTUNITIES: 鈥 AAN staff will fit and give away 1,000 free bike helmets to the public starting at 8:00 a.m. 鈥 Visitors can take pictures with their helmets in a social media photo booth. #ProctectYourBrain 鈥 The AAN-hosted piano from Pianos on Parade will be on-site, available for the public to play. 鈥 Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey has proclaimed June 22, 2019, Brain Health Awareness Day in the city to raise awareness of brain disease and safety. 鈥 Mill City Farmers Market healthy brain food cooking demonstrations throughout the morning. MINNEAPOLIS 鈥 For the eighth consecutive year, the 好色先生 (AAN) will be giving away 1,000 bike helmets to children and adults on Saturday, June 22, 2019, at the AAN headquarters, and in conjunction with the Mill City Farmers Market. The free bike helmet giveaway is designed to raise awareness of and help prevent head injuries in Minnesota. The event will take place between 8:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. Attendees are encouraged to arrive early as quantities are limited. 鈥淜eeping your brain healthy and protected is at the center of our mission at the 好色先生,鈥 said Catherine M. Rydell, CAE, CEO of the AAN. 鈥淲e are honored to be able to give back to protect the safety of our community. We encourage everyone to wear a helmet as they enjoy the bike trails and city bike lanes.鈥 The AAN is the world鈥檚 largest association of neurologists and is dedicated to raising awareness about brain health and prevention of brain injuries which influenced the annual bike helmet giveaway program. In addition to the free giveaway event, the AAN donates bike helmets to local non-profit organizations. Recipients of this year鈥檚 free bike helmets include the Minneapolis Police Department Bike Cops for Kids, Brain Injury Alliance Minnesota, Cycles for Changes, International Institute of Minnesota, Health Care for the Homeless program (Hennepin County Public Health) and Engineering the Ride program (Minneapolis Public Schools). Attendees will be able to sign up for a free subscription to the 好色先生鈥檚 free magazine, Brain & Life庐, an excellent resource for people with neurologic disorders, caregivers and anyone interested in brain health.
