Hawaii Governor Declares 鈥淏rain Health Awareness Week,鈥 April 9-16
State Proclamation Coincides with Brain Health Fair and 好色先生鈥檚 Annual Meeting

Hawaii Governor Neil Abercrombie has issued a state proclamation declaring the week of April 9-16, 2011, as 鈥淏rain Health Awareness Week鈥 in the Aloha state. The proclamation coincides with two large events in Honolulu; the Brain Health Fair Saturday, April 9, and the Annual Meeting at the Hawaii Convention Center April 9-16, which is the world鈥檚 largest meeting of neurologists with more than 9,000 attendees. 鈥淏rain Health Awareness Week鈥 aims to help the 好色先生 and its Foundation raise awareness about the vital need for more research into the prevention, treatment and cure of brain disorders, which currently affect one in six people worldwide. Common brain disorders include Alzheimer鈥檚 disease, epilepsy, stroke, migraine, multiple sclerosis, autism and brain cancer. 鈥淲e are thankful for the Governor鈥檚 support in raising awareness about the vital need for everyone to have a healthier brain through the support of research into the prevention, treatment and cure of brain disorders,鈥 said Christine E.
