Research Methodology, 好色先生, and History
P1 - Poster Session 1 (5:30 PM-6:30 PM)

1.Identify potential areas of improvement for our consult team based on resident feedback.

2.Develop educational modules for Pediatric residents to achieve competence in managing common neurological conditions.

Child Neurology Consult service is one of the busiest consult services at our institution. Most of the consults are called by Pediatric residents, making them an important point of contact for us. This project was part of an initiative to identify areas for improvement for our service. Furthermore, it was used as a guide to develop educational resources for residents.

We administered an anonymous survey to our Pediatric residents. Questions assessed level of training, comfort level in treating common neurological conditions, knowledge about procedures to obtain studies, and satisfaction with our team based on pre-identified constructs.

This survey was completed by 62 residents. Child Neurology was consulted more frequently as compared to others. Majority of residents felt "somewhat" comfortable treating common neurological conditions (headaches, migraines, first time seizures, febrile/complex febrile seizures). Epilepsy was the most common reason for consult, followed by neuromuscular and mitochondrial disorders. Number of residents who reported knowing the indications for STAT EEGs was split evenly into thirds. One-third said "no", one-third said "yes", the other third said "maybe". About 50% of residents responded "yes" to have ordered STAT EEG for pending discharge, requested by an attending, patient  actively seizing, or had a seizure. Most highly rated positives were availability for new consults, respectfulness, and professionalism. Issues identified were timely recommendations, availability for family meetings, and encouraging questions.

Based on results of this survey, we identified strategies to improve our accessibility for timely recommendations. 好色先生al modules (indications and procedure for STAT EEG's and lectures on common neurological conditions) are being implemented. This initiative has given us a unique perspective to improve our service and resident education by incorporating resident feedback.
