Abstract Details

Admission Blood Pressure and Outcome after Successful Recanalization: a collaborative pooled analysis
Cerebrovascular Disease and Interventional Neurology
P5 - Poster Session 5 (5:30 PM-6:30 PM)
3-009

To investigate the association between admission BP and 90-day functional outcome.

There is a considerable evidence supporting the association between admission blood pressure (BP) and outcome of ischemic stroke. However, the association between admission BP and the outcome in patients who achieve successful recanalization with mechanical thrombectomy is unknown.

Patients were pooled from 9 endovascular databases that included

consecutive patients with anterior circulation large vessel occlusion treated with mechanical thrombectomy (MT). Inclusion criteria were baseline modified Rankin Scale (mRS) 0-2,  Alberta Stroke Program Early CT scan (ASPECT) score >=6, and modified Tissue in Cerebral Infarction score >=2 b at the end of the procedure.  BP measurements at admission included systolic BP (SBP) and diastolic BP (DBP). Admission mean arterial pressure (MAP) and pulse pressure (PP) were calculated from admission SBP and DBP for each patient.

A total of 1077 patients were included in the study, of whom 506 (47%) patients had good outcome (mRS 0-2) at 90 days.  There were no significant differences in SBP, DBP, MAP, and PP between the good outcome and the poor outcome groups. SBP, DBP, MAP, and PP were not associated with the good outcome on multivariate analysis after adjusting for potential confounders.

We did not find an association between admission BP and the good outcome in patients who were treated with mechanical thrombectomy ,and achieved successful recanalization
