Intersection of PARK2 Mutations: Dynamics Between Ovarian and Breast Cancer, Parkinson's Disease, and Synuclein Express

Abstract aims at systematic review of meticulously synthesize existing research in mutations in the park 2 gene, linked to ovarian and breast cancer, and its role in Parkinson's disease (PD) and expression of synucleins in breast and ovarian cancer (OC) preneoplastic ovarian lesions, explore the association between a PARK2 germline variant and epithelial OC. 

Synucleins implicated in various neurodegenerative disorders, including PD. Recent research has shown their expression in breast and OC and preneoplastic ovarian lesions. PARK2 gene, associated with PD, has also been linked to ovarian and breast cancers.

Comprehensive approach incorporating literature in Expression of synucleins was analyzed in breast and ovarian carcinomas, preneoplastic ovarian lesions, using immunohistochemistry. Association between PARK2 germline variant and epithelial ovarian cancer investigated through genetic analysis. In-vitro experiments determine the vulnerability of peripheral blood lymphocytes carrying PARK2 mutation to Paraquat-induced stress. Analysis of park 2 gene mutations causing ovarian and breast cancer in the context of Parkinson's disease development.
Patients with park 2 gene mutations linked to ovarian and breast cancer were found to have a higher incidence of developing Parkinson's disease. Synuclein expression was observed in majority of breast and ovarian carcinomas, preneoplastic lesions of ovary. PARK2 germline variant showed an association with epithelial ovarian cancer. In vitro experiments demonstrated that PARK2 mutation enhances the vulnerability of peripheral blood lymphocytes to Paraquat-induced stress
Comprehending the dynamics PARK2 mutations, cancer predisposition and PD provides valuable insights into shared pathways and pathogenesis of PD. Presence of synucleins in breast and ovarian carcinomas and preneoplastic ovarian lesions suggests a potential role in tumorigenesis. Association between the PARK2 germline variant and epithelial ovarian cancer highlight’s role in neurodegenerative diseases. The enhanced vulnerability of lymphocytes with the PARK2 mutation to Paraquat implicates its involvement in oxidative stress response
