Global access to neurological care is an increasing concern as the burden of neurologic disease grows. Clinical practice may vary considerably in global settings given potentially limited resources or unique epidemiologic factors. Hence, it is essential to remain cognizant of what is happening outside of our immediate environment. There is a need for strengthening our understanding of how neurology is practiced globally via education and sharing of clinical practice. 47 out of 56 adult neurology residents at our institute felt there was a need for further dedicated teaching in this area. Furthermore, as many as 72% of residents were interested in an international elective.

Creation of an individualized Global Neurology Track with the following highlights:

1. Global neurology week: Creating and integrating Global Neurology Week in our mandatory noon conference didactics for the residency.

2. Special conferences: Organizing formal journal clubs and virtual case conferences in different subspecialties with different universities for interested residents in the track.

3. Geographic Pods for On and Off campus connections: Connecting residents to home institute faculty and global leaders in neurological education, clinical skills, and research through tailored scholarly projects to meet individual academic goals. Track members included committed residents and faculty members who bring expertise from different geographical pods allowing varied international connections and rotations.
