Learning Objectives Upon completion:
Participants should become familiar with recent progress in mitochondrial genetics and the relationship, which is not always straight, between mutations in either the mitochondrial or the nuclear genome, and clinical presentations. Participants should also have a more rational diagnostic approach to these often maddening heterogeneous disorders and a better appreciation of the challenges of therapy.
