Learning Objectives Participants should know the rationale for the newly proposed definition of TIA and the early risk and evaluation for TIA; be able to discuss the evidence supporting the use of carotid and intracranial stenting; choose appropriately among the different antithrombotic agents for stroke prevention, including aspirin, clopidogrel, dipyridamole, and warfarin; know which blood studies should be obtained, and in which patients, when a coagulopathy is suspected; and know the latest evidence supporting controversial treatments for stroke prevention.
