Learning Objectives Participants should be familiar with the definition of neuropathic pain, the major postulated mechanisms of neuropathic pain, the potential applicability of those mechanisms to other pain states, the major pharmacologic and interventional treatments available for neuropathic pain, and the evidence supporting those treatments; and refine their understanding of tools for clinical assessment of neuropathic pain symptoms and signs and the concept of mechanism-based therapy.
