Learning Objectives
Presentation will provide a personalized perspective from a young leader that can be used to educate other neurologists transitioning into leadership positions. Content will be a distillation of the presenter’s experience at his home institution, formal training programs, coaching sessions, and reading summaries from the literature. Specific examples of strategies that were both successful as well as unsuccessful will be discussed. Topics to be covered include optimizing communication, conflict resolution, emotional intelligence, establishment of personal values, and crucial conversations. The discussant will further include examples of how his perspective has evolved over the course of his leadership tenure.
