Learning Objectives It is critical that we have diversity among the country’s neurology department chairs to move the field forward. This panel will discuss essential responsibilities and traits individuals need to address while considering a future as a chair. Topics will include intentional planning and leveraging opportunity, the value of prior leadership roles, and the effect of the position on other individual pursuits such as research or education. We will discuss pathways to success from a variety of prior backgrounds, and draw upon personal experiences of the panelists. There will be ample time for Q&A as the intent is to help those who are considering departmental chair positions to examine how their own narrative can be used to support their success.
