Spinal Cord/Nerve Root Disorders
Participants should be able to understand the electrophysiologic techniques used for intraoperative monitoring of the spinal cord and spinal nerve roots, including SEP, MEP, monitoring of spontaneous EMG activity, and recording of EMG in response to stimulation within the surgical field; and should be able to understand the purpose of these tests, technical aspects of performing the tests, possible effects of the anesthetic regimen on the intraoperative monitoring, and the ways in which the results are interpreted.
