Participants should be able to describe the current understanding of the neurobiology and the physiology of normal sleep and circadian rhythms; appreciate the mechanisms that underlie sleep disorders, such as circadian rhythm disorders, parasomnias, hypersomnias, restless legs syndrome, and sleep apnea; and explain the diagnosis, treatment, and management of patients with sleep disorders commonly encountered in neurologic practice.
