Participants should be able to accurately classify cluster headache and other trigeminal autonomic cephalalgias based on International Headache Society Criteria; identify the appropriate studies for further evaluation based on patient history and physical findings; evaluate the approach to refractory headache disorders, such as New Daily Persistent Headache, and recognize differences in clinical presentations and treatment of primary versus secondary headache disorders; discuss the differential diagnosis of thunderclap headache, exertional, sexual, cough headache, and other primary headache disorders; initiate an effective personalized treatment plan including both pharmacological and non-pharmacologic interventions for primary headache disorders; and discuss future research directions on the evaluation and treatments of other primary headache disorders.
