Upon completion:
Participants should be able to describe molecular biological mechanisms by which neurosteroids influence neuronal excitability and seizures; understand the role of reproductive steroids in catamenial epilepsy and the potential use of hormones in seizure management; know the effects of epilepsy and antiepileptic drugs on contraception, fertility and pregnancy; and deal effectively with menopause as it may affect seizures and bone density issues in women with epilepsy.
