Dancing is for everyone! Come learn the basic steps in Salsa dancing in this creative workshop, while exploring the connections between dancing in partnership and the patient-physician relationship. Partnered dance requires give-and-take, communication and understanding, and trust. At its best, committing to this relationship unleashes creativity, synergy, and good fun! Dancing in partnership, similar to the relationship between a teacher and a learner, or a patient and their doctor, also reveals information about ourselves: where we are confident, where we are tentative, and what we still have yet to learn. In this beginner Salsa dance workshop, join us for a little bit of self-reflection, and a whole lot of dance! No partner or dance experience is required. All steps will be taught by experienced instructors, with time for group reflection about the connections between dancing, neurology, and doctoring built in. We hope this workshop promotes attendee wellbeing through creativity, movement, self-reflection, and fun.
