Practice, Policy, and Ethics
Participants should be able to critically analyze and differentiate the primary arguments for and against the use of AI in neurology, involving appraising evidence from a multi-disciplinary perspective to understand the full spectrum of benefits and challenges; identify and appraise the current capabilities and limitations of AI technologies in neurology by analyzing real-world case studies and research data, including comparing different AI models, examining their outcomes for patient safety, and discussing the evidence base for their efficacy; interpret and report on various stakeholder perspectives regarding AI in neurology, including those of patients, health care providers, AI developers, and policymakers; evaluate and argue the ethical implications of AI application in neurology by reviewing patient privacy rights, informed consent protocols, and the impact on health care equity; engage in ethical reasoning to assess how AI technology aligns with or conflicts with current ethical standards in health care; examine and compare risk management approaches for using AI in neurology clinics; and learn how to identify possible issues and understand the long-term effects of using AI in health care.
