Learning Objectives Participants should be familiar with the assessment and acute management of patients with spinal cord injury, including functional classification of patients using the American Spinal Injury Association Impairment Scale; understand potential mechanisms for neural repair and motor rehabilitation; be familiar with management of autonomic dysfunction; recognize patterns of SCI resulting from modern warfare; be able to address sexual function needs of patients with SCI; and be able to support psychological adjustments needed for societal reintegration.
