Participants should be able to evaluate features of commercial EMR systems; select functionalities that best serve their practice needs; understand how to perform an EMR cost analysis; anticipate and resolve common EMR implementation problems; consider important technologies associated with EMR user interfaces and data entry such as voice recognition, pen-based input, and new tablet PC's; and address legal and security issues associated with EMR use.
