Upon completion:
Participants should be able to recognize the symptoms of acute myelopathies and institute an appropriate work up; classify acute myelopathies into compressive vs. non-compressive, inflammatory vs. non-inflammatory and monofocal vs. multifocal; recognize systemic inflammatory disorders (i.e., systemic lupus erythematosis, sarcoidosis, Sjogren's syndrome) that may be present with ATM; recognize that ATM may be part of a multi-focal CNS inflammatory disorder (i.e., multiple sclerosis, neuromyelitis optica); recognize proposed immunopathogenic mechanisms that cause ATM; and understand the evidence that supports various treatment options in patients presenting with ATM.
