Upon completion:
Participants should have a comprehensive understanding of hypoxic ischemic brain injury after cardiac arrest; learn the development of cardiopulmonary resuscitation in relation to brain injury; patient care during the critical period, including hypothermia and other supportive care in the ICU; use of diagnostic modalities such as electrophysiology, neuroimaging and other clinical markers to enhance management and prognostication; and discussion of ethical and social issues involving the care of these patients.
