Participants should be able to recognize the value of video-EEG recordings in complementing history-taking for the diagnosis of paroxysmal events; recognize the salient features of different types of paroxysmal events in adults and children that may be mistaken for epilepsy; understand how seizure semiology may be helpful for lateralization and localization; and understand the technological and physician resources needed to run a video-EEG unit.
