Participants should become familiar with ICU postoperative neurosurgical care to prevent secondary brain injury and recognize/manage acute complications (hemorrhage, ischemia, edema, seizures, etc); identify patients at risk for osmotic demyelination syndrome and apply evidence-based osmotherapy and fluid management based on osmolar change principles; mitigate cognitive bias in neuroprognostication through multimodal data integration, appropriate timing, and effective communication of uncertain prognosis with surrogates.
