This program will explore the promises and perils of artificial intelligence as it relates to the care of those with neurologic conditions. Specifically, we will address the potential for AI to perpetuate ableism, and therefore worse health outcomes, in the medical care of neurologic patients. We will discuss the role and responsibility of neurologists in ensuring that AI technologies are developed and implemented in a manner that does not perpetuate discrimination and healthcare disparities.
