Hubs (Wellness)
General Neurology
Medical creative writing can inspire, inform, and transform our practice, both in how we see ourselves and how we see each other, in addition to finding joy in neurology. We will review the research behind narrative medicine and wellness, as well as how artificial intelligence (AI) interfaces with these concepts. We will read aloud a selected work, previously published in Neurology, to discuss aspects such as theme, structure, and relevance to neurology, with audience engagement. The session will end with an interactive creative writing prompt, with an opportunity for attendees to write a poem and share anonymously via an online interactive presentation. The moderators will include a writing prompt generated by AI, and invite the audience to guess which was written by AI. This exercise will provide a fresh perspective about finding our humanity in medicine and comparing and contrasting what we bring to neurology, in comparison with AI.
