Child Neurology and Developmental Neurology
By the end of this session, participants will be able to describe how advances in precision medicine and genetic testing are reshaping the diagnosis and management of patients with IDD and pediatric-onset neurodevelopmental disorders; discuss the evolving clinical, behavioral, and psychosocial needs of individuals with rare neurogenetic conditions as they move from pediatric to adult systems of care; identify strategies for collaborative, multidisciplinary care that bridge pediatric and adult neurology through shared expertise in genetics, pharmacology, and care coordination; recognize barriers to equitable access to genetic testing, targeted therapies, and coordinated lifespan care and explore systems-level solutions to overcome them; and apply family-centered, evidence-informed practices to integrate new genetic and therapeutic insights into ongoing neurological management and advocacy. This program is held in partnership with the Child Neurology Foundation.
