General Neurology/Neurology of Systemic Disease, Neurorehabilitation, Spinal Cord/Nerve Root Disorders
Participants should become familiar with the breadth of sports neurology and gain an appreciation of how to approach neurological diseases in the athlete. Regarding concussion, they should understand the epidemiology of the injury and the legislative initiatives in place and in development. Participants should understand current consensus opinion and evidence-based guidelines related to concussion, enabling them to: evaluate presence of concussion; manage concussed athletes and individuals; make return to play decisions; and educate non-health care professionals and other health care practitioners on key issues related to concussion.
