Learning Objectives This course will help clinicians use evidence-based approaches to understand why patients may struggle to complete recommended care, including barriers related to cost, health literacy, beliefs, trust, and competing life priorities. Participants will practice brief, practical strategies to assess these barriers before patients leave the visit, then use motivational interviewing, teach-back, and shared decision-making to create care plans that are clear, feasible, and more likely to be followed.
