Epilepsy/Clinical Neurophysiology (EEG), Movement Disorders
Epilepsy care has changed meaningfully in the past several years, and much of what matters most happens outside the epilepsy center. This case-based update covers what the general neurologist and APP need for pragmatic, up-to-date care: rational antiseizure medication selection and escalation including the newer agents and the ones on the near horizon, teratogenicity and interaction pitfalls, recognizing drug-resistant epilepsy early enough for referral to matter, current indications for genetic testing and advanced imaging, updated indications for neuromodulation and the updated ILAE seizure classification. Cases will illustrate the decision points where recent evidence should change what you do in your daily clinical practice. Cases will also demonstrate frameworks to improve diagnosis and management.
