PM Half-Day Course
Bruce L. Miller, MD, FAAN
Participants should have a better understanding of the recent advances in neuropsychiatry, in particular the genetic and anatomical underpinnings of behavior. They should be able to define the range, frequency, and severity of neuropsychiatric disorders in patients with epilepsy and understand the correlation and potential mechanism of causation between different epilepsy syndromes and different neuropsychiatric disorders. They should have strategies to screen, prevent, recognize, and treat neuropsychiatric disorders in their patients, as well as an understanding of how these disorders impact patients. Incorporating this knowledge into practice should lead to improved test and lab selections during evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of the patient.
