Cerebrovascular Disease and Interventional Neurology
Participants should learn recent advances in the use of therapeutic hypothermia for acute brain injuries, especially cardiac arrest, acute brain and spine trauma, and acute ischemic and hemorrhagic strokes. The participants should also learn important aspects of the therapeutic hypothermia such as neuroprotective mechanisms, technologies and clinical practices to effectively and safely deliver the therapy, organization of multidisciplinary treatment groups, prognostic considerations and ongoing research in this area. The participants should become familiar with evidence based literature, as well as consensus and practice guidelines related to therapeutic hypothermia from recognized professional organizations.
