Upon completion:
Participants should be aware of the more frequent co-morbid neurologic, psychiatric and medical disorders associated with epileptic seizure disorders and the way they influence the course of the epilepsy; be able to recognize the negative impact of frequently used antiepileptic drugs on pharmacologic regimens of common medical, neurologic and psychiatric co-morbidities; be able to choose the appropriate psychotropic drugs for the management of common psychiatric co-morbidities in patients with epilepsy; and be able to anticipate the obstacles posed by co-morbid medical conditions on the treatment of epileptic seizure disorders.
