Participants should be able to develop a neuroimaging checklist that will improve their diagnostic accuracy when interpreting or reviewing neuroimaging studies; have an improved ability to integrate their clinical and imaging skills towards identifying significant findings whose recognition positively impacts patient management; define major categories of lesions and other abnormalities detectable on MRI and CT examinations of the brain and spine in clinical practice; be familiar with newer imaging techniques and their relevance to patient care in both the hospital and outpatient settings; and understand the physical basis of conventional MRI techniques, including basic MRI pulse sequence design concepts with specific application to various central nervous system disorders, including multiple sclerosis, dementia, stroke, hemorrhage, and brain tumors.
