Participants should be able to identify an educational research question that they are interested in investigating. Using the content objectives described below, participants will have a basic research plan to investigate their question by the end of the course.

Participants should connect their research question to broader education theory and identify resources to further strengthen that foundation.

Participants should format their research question in a way that meaningful comparisons can be made and conclusions can be drawn that lead to alteration in educational practice.

Participants should identify whether their research question is best answered using quantitative or qualitative research methods and which method within those groups is most appropriate for their research project.
