General Neurology/Neurology of Systemic Disease
Participants should be familiar with concepts of abuse, how to screen for abuse, and how to refer patients who have survived abusive relationships; types of abuse and associated risk factors; and techniques for inquiring about abuse, documenting abuse, and how to refer patients with a history of abuse or patients who are currently in abusive relationships. Participants should understand the association between abuse and neurologic disorders.

Participants should be able to discuss the most commonly encountered neurologic injuries of war and ascertain the severity of the physical and psychological injuries, and the impact on their patients.

Participants should also be able to identify potential neurologic presentations after a natural disaster. These neurologic disorders may be unusual in other circumstances but are important to recognize and treat in a timely fashion.
