Participants should be able to promptly recognize, accurately diagnose, and effectively treat patients with REM sleep behavior disorder, and appropriately counsel patients about longterm risk of phenoconversion to overt synucleinopathy neurodegenerative disorders including Parkinson disease, dementia with Lewy bodies, and multiple system atrophy.
Additionally, participants should gain awareness of the vital role of sleep quantity and quality in patients with neurodegenerative disorders, with prompt referral for sleep evaluation of patients with hypersomnia, insomnia, and parasomnia behaviors.
