Participants should have knowledge of recent advances in the care of brain injury in patients resuscitated from cardiac arrest; should learn an evidence-based approach at prognostication using modalities such as clinical evaluation, electrophysiology, neuroimaging, serological markers based on the recent AAN practice guideline on prognostication; enhance their understanding of the acute management of these patients to improve outcome, focusing on therapeutic hypothermia and emerging neuroprotective strategies; and be updated on the management of common acute and chronic problems of patients resuscitated from cardiac arrest.
