Participants should be familiar with and prioritize acute concussion assessment techniques that are not typically part of the standard neurologic exam and apply them to unique environmental settings.They should be able to recognize Red Flag signs and symptoms and learn when to remove from play vs when to allow continued participation. Participants should learn strategies to implement when unsure of the diagnosis after the initial evaluation. Participants should also gain the ability to provide guidance and recommendations to athletes, trainers, coaches, parents, and other stakeholders in the setting of a sports-related concussion.
